In spite of some bad weather, and the fact that much produce is as yet unavailable due to a late start in the growing season, we still have so much to offer! Seedlings, plants, rhubarb, asparagus, and more are available.
The market has been well entertained by Phil McMahon and Brian Sachs, who have been busking at all three markets so far. Our thanks to those two musical gentlemen for joining us! We are still welcoming buskers to apply to entertain at our markets, and busker applications are and will remain available on our blog for at least another month.
The market is featuring different recipes every week. They’re related to products/produce currently available. Copies are available at the market table free of charge! If anyone would like to share their own favourite seasonal recipes, please drop them off to the manager at the farmers’market booth.
This past Tuesday, the Haliburton Highlands Land Trust was at the market answering questions on their various programs. We thank them for attending! For more information, please visit their website at: www.haliburtonlandtrust.ca
This coming Tuesday, June 17th, the Haliburton Master Gardeners will be in attendance offering sustainable gardening tips and providing all sorts of useful & practical gardening info. Bring your questions and sick plants!
We still have Market Loyalty Cards available for frequent visitors to our markets. After you make your purchases you will bring your card to the market table to be stamped and when the card is full, you will be rewarded with market dollars to be spent anywhere in the market. Ask at the market table.
The Carnarvon market will be opening on Friday June 20th, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. We’re looking forward to serving you there!
Sincerely – Gailon Valleau, Market Manager
