The Haliburton County Farmers’ Market was founded 6 years ago by local food activists and local growers.
We have two locations – Head Lake Park – Tuesdays starting May 20, 12 – 4pm, and Carnarvon – Fridays 1 – 5pm beside Rhubarb Restaurant – starting June 20th.
There is no question that an essential component in our success has been the generous support of volunteers! (The failure rate for farmers’ markets is very high – up to 50% in the first 5 years.)
We need and welcome volunteers to help at the market. Tasks include counting patrons, helping with events, (like our gardening and cookbook swap), assisting with parking, or giving a hand with set up and take-down of tents.
If you’re interested in volunteering and helping local growers & producers, all of which brings benefits to our community, please contact our Market Manager, Gailon Valleau at: firstname.lastname@example.org (or) Tel. 705.306.0523
