Book Exchange and sale – All season long

Bring any aBook exchange booksnd all gardening and food-related books that you’re ready to part with!

Whether they’re cookbooks, gardening books, foodie memoirs or reference books – then take your pick from books others have brought.  Each participant is welcome to take as many books as they bring! If you don’t have any books to swap, books are available to purchase for a small fee.

Haliburton Master Gardeners

Join us at the Village of Haliburton market on  June 17th for a visit from the Haliburton Master Gardeners.

Bring any horticultural or gardening related questions as this group of dedicated and certified volunteers has the knowledge to help.  The Haliburton Master Gardeners serve Haliburton County and specialize in #gardening in our zone 4 location.

The Haliburton County Master Gardeners are a group of both Experienced Master Gardeners and Master Gardeners in Training.  The group is a valuable resource to the community by:MGLOGO_-_green_(2009)transparent
  • conducting periodic advice clinics at various local events
  • answering questions through our web site
  • giving horticultural presentations upon request

SIRCH Community Services

Sirch logoDemonstrations on healthy food ideas.
Over the past several years SIRCH has implemented a number of programs to:
a) Provide healthy food to residents who don’t have enough or are unable to prepare their own due to illness or circumstance
b) Build skills and confidence in growing, preserving and cooking food
c) Provide opportunities to meet and connect with others in the community around a common topic
– July 8th – Village of Haliburton
– July 18th – Carnarvon
– August 5th – Village of Haliburton
– August 15th – Carnarvon

Oddest Vegetable Contest

fm veggiesGardeners of all ages are encouraged to bring in their oddest looking vegetables!

Judging will take place during the last weekends of July, August, and September at both market locations.
